[11:00] <criezy|Work> And otherwise this can be added feature in ScummVM. We have done that for Broken Sword cutscenes for example.
[11:00] <criezy|Work> There is OSD messages which could be abused to display overlay text I suppose, but this has limitations and does not look like a good approach.
[11:02] <criezy|Work> *could be abused to display *subtitle* text (it's purpose it to display *overlay* text, so doing that is not an abuse :P)

[11:08] <stroggoff> It would be better (in my opinion) if there was a central (global?) mechanism as a ScummVM feature for games that don't inherently support subtitles (so that it could use fonts (readable, and possibly with multilanguage support) that the game might not have in its resource files), but I understand that this opens up a can of worms and issues...

[19:16] <criezy> The issue here is the stupid macOS null_ptr that results in global constructor warnings all over the place. So whatever you use on Windows, you will be protected.

[19:17] <criezy> I believe the warnings goes away on macOS when using c++11.
[19:17] <criezy> And the stupidity of macOS null_ptr should not prevent from making those types of changes anyway.
