[16:22] <Some_Person> I was wondering how my long-distance SO and I might be able to play a game in ScummVM together, other than the obvious method of one side streaming the game. Is there any better way, or should we just try that?
[16:24] <madmoose> Some_Person: You would need some other remote collaboration program, there's no native support in ScummVM for anything like that.
[16:25] <Some_Person> madmoose: I see. Any suggestions for a collaboration program that might work?
[16:26] <madmoose> Some_Person: You could try TeamViewer perhaps?
[16:27] <Some_Person> madmoose: Hmm, maybe. Do people actually play games using TeamViewer, or would it be too laggy?
[16:27] <madmoose> Some_Person: I don't know. Must ScummVM games are not exactly high FPS games, though :)
[16:27] <Some_Person> true
[16:29] <Some_Person> I also have a dedicated server, which has a far better upload pipe than my home connection (5 Mbps). Not sure if it would be possible to do something with that
[16:35] <madmoose> I never run GUI programs on remote servers so I can't help you there :)

[16:47] <Some_Person> How do others do this sort of thing? I'd prefer not to use Twitch since it would be public on there
[16:50] <criezy|Work> Doesn't Skype provide screen sharing with possibility to share the mouse and keyboard as well? I am not sure how laggy it would be though.
[16:51] <criezy|Work> At my company we use Lync, WebEx GoToMeeting or Exceed TurboX whenever we need to do collaborative work with a distant colleague (which one depends on how many people, where, who, to do what...).
[16:51] <criezy|Work> But they are all commercial products.
[16:52] --> LittleToonCat joined #scummvm.
[17:00] <Some_Person> Skype can share the screen, but I don't think it can share mouse and keyboard, and I'm not sure how laggy it would be

[21:10] <jrl> I've purchased Maniac Mansion from GOGS from the 'Where to get games' link. Could anyone point me in the right direction on how to load the game? It seems GOGS wants be to download a binary for win/mac.

[21:34] <criezy> jrl: usually downloads for Windows on GoG are installer that you need to execute to get the game data.
[21:34] <criezy> On the other hand mac download are disk images.
[21:35] <criezy> Unless you are on a mac, the Windows download is easier to handle. You can even execute those on Linux or Mac using wine.
[21:35] <criezy> Once the game is installed, you can add the game in ScummVM.
[21:36] <criezy> Use the Add Game button in ScummVM and select the directory where the game data were installed.

[22:00] <jrl> Thanks @criezy! I'm using OpenBSD. Sounds like I need access to a mac or windows computer to install then send myself the installed files?
[22:06] <ccawley2011> You can also try using innoextract to unpack the Windows installer.

[23:31] <Lightkey> Joefish: https://github.com/immi101/innoextract/tree/gogextract did you try this fork?
[23:33] <Joefish> Lightkey, yea tried that one as well and while it extracted more files than the main branch it was still missing a few
[23:34] <Joefish> other games were working fine but the kyra series and some other I don't remember now had problems for some reason
