[10:14] <eriktorbjorn> I wasn't sure if ScummVM supported it or not. SCI is on of those strange engines that I rarely see anyone working on, but it still manages to progress each time I turn my back on it. :-)
[10:15] <m_kiewitz> well, it's actually somewhat easy - everything that came out after Gabriel Knight 1 (including that game itself) are SCI32 and don't work properly
[10:15] <m_kiewitz> games before that should all work
[10:15] <wjp> NRS does patch many of the QFG4 timing issues

[10:17] <m_kiewitz> those last boss issues are caused by all sorts of issues. for example the timer for the boss doesn't stop when going into inventory and so on
[10:18] <m_kiewitz> and attacks aren't stopped when you actually defeated him, that's why hero can still die after doing that
[10:19] <m_kiewitz> btw. i have no idea what sierra did with the quest for glory 4 floppy box
[10:19] <m_kiewitz> every single time it is sold the box itself looks like crap
[10:19] <m_kiewitz> it seems the box print isn't durable
[10:20] <m_kiewitz> i found an asian box variant at some point, but didn't buy it because it was a bit more expensive
[10:20] <m_kiewitz> but that asian box seems to use a different print method, which is why it still looks great
[10:20] <wjp> I only have the qfg4cd one, but that seems ok still
[10:20] <m_kiewitz> yes, it's the white box i own that one already
[10:20] <m_kiewitz> i should have bought the asian box back then
[10:20] <m_kiewitz> i think i found it on australian ebay
[10:20] <eriktorbjorn> Hmm... The ScummVM Wiki lists the first SWAT among the SCI games, but Wikipedia doesn't seem to. Or am I just missing it? Now, I'd like to forget I ever tried that game too, but...

[10:25] <eriktorbjorn> I wanted to like Lighthouse. There were cases where you could screw up and still recover from it, which is nice. But I think it also allowed you to forget an important object in the very first room. And then there was that maze...

[10:28] <eriktorbjorn> I was even more disappointed by RAMA, because I enjoyed the book so much back when I first read it. But the puzzles were repetitive, the navigation clumsy, the puzzles repetitive, the story not very interesting, and the puzzles repetitive.
